Last night, BNCWI members gathered to share and critique each other's latest work. The room buzzed with innovative ideas and creative writing solutions. As a result of fresh eyes and different perspectives, I'm sure there are many inspired writers frantically revising at their drafting tables today!
Come join our group of writers & illustrators... Check out a meeting! "We all need people who will give us feedback. That's how we improve." - Bill Gates Grab your latest manuscript and get ready to share!
At our next meeting, we will be breaking into small groups (based on our genres), to give and receive constructive feedback on our writing. This is a wonderful opportunity to have fresh eyes look at your work in a thoughtful way. Please join us on Monday April 17th at 7pm (at The Audubon Library) for this small group share and critique session. For our full meeting schedule, please click here. Members were eager to learn as BNCWI's resident research expert and historical fiction author, Alyssa Palombo, led a lively and informative meeting. Alyssa generously shared her tips and happily answered questions about "out of the box" research techniques. It was clear by the end of the meeting that the group was enthusiastic about putting some fun, fact-finding methods into practice! Alyssa's new (well researched!) book, The Most Beautiful Woman in Florence, hits shelves on April 25th!

Non-fiction, historical fiction, and realistic fiction are hot hot hot! And, so are the tips that the amazing historical fiction author (and BNCWI's own), Alyssa Palombo, is going to share at our next meeting. Alyssa will be presenting alternate methods of research rather than just reading, as well as how to weave research into your writing. She will also provide some exercises to get the group thinking about their research. From picture books to adult novels... No matter what genre you work in, this is a meeting that will have takeaways for every writer! To learn more about our full meeting schedule, please click here. The themes of last night's meeting were definitely encouragement & motivation, as Nancy shared her secrets about making the most of a BNCWI membership. She inspired the group with her creative binders and tales of the friendship and support she has found through the group. Nancy's presentation about the wonders of BNCWI were made evident as new members found themselves in just the right place at just the right time (to make just the right connections!)... The magic of BNCWI in action!
